Personalised funeral services in Bath
W.F. Dolman and Son offer a 24-hour personal service – 365 days a year. We will arrange the transfer of the deceased into our care at any time of the day or night.
Chapel of rest
Family and friends are welcome to visit our chapel by appointment to view the deceased and say their farewell.
Vehicles
Transport is a key consideration when making funeral arrangements. A hearse is provided as part of our service, but limousines – which are chauffeur-driven and can comfortably seat six people – are charged separately in case you need them.
Bearing staff
We provide four bearers. If additional bearers are needed, we will discuss this with you.
Newspaper notices
We can organise newspaper obituary notices for you, discussing your options and offering advice on appropriate wording.
Eulogy based services
A non-denominational service celebrates the life of the deceased in a eulogy- based service with or without a religious element. We can put you in touch with a celebrant who will help you plan the service
Flowers
Floral tributes are an important part of many funerals and can play a very personal role as a tribute to the deceased. We will assist you with the ordering of the floral tributes and on the day of the funeral, flowers may be sent directly to our premises, where they will be handled with the greatest of care.
Order of service
If you wish to have an order of service, we can assist with the layout and arrange the printing of them for you.
Music
Many families believe that the funeral service should reflect the character of the deceased, and music is an ideal way to achieve this. As a powerful reminder of a person’s tastes, personality and interests, a personal piece of music can be both poignant and uplifting.
Charitable donations
You may prefer that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charitable organisation of your choice – perhaps one which meant something to the deceased. We will collect all the donations for you before forwarding them, and can also provide you with a list if you so wish.
Personal items
If you would like to leave small items with the deceased as an act of love and respect, we would be glad to help you honour your loved one in this way.
At the funeral
On the day, our experienced funeral director will be in attendance throughout the proceedings to ensure that everything runs smoothly and to assist you if the need arises.
